2012年12月31日18:00～2013年1月1日に掛けてopenした今年で5年目のBar。
1階はカウンター10席と、2階に上る階段脇に4-5名用個室が一つ。入口からここだけ見ると、とてもこじんまりしている。でも2階には、1階からは想像出来ない広々した空間に、30名は座れるテーブル席が6席ほど配置されている。

実はX.Y.Z.はおでんやさん「岳」と姉妹店。
Barオーナーでバーテンダーの鸣mingさんは四川省出身、上海で古くから最も有名な通称「星座Bar」から独立した方。片言の日本語も喋る。経緯からしても私好みの(笑)オーセンティックバー。当然バックバーの品揃え、グラス、氷にもこだわりがありバーテンダーの皆さんの観念が日本的。「バーテンダーはお酒を作るだけでなくお酒の文化も伝えたい」と。

X.Y.Z.で出すお酒は、4割がウイスキー、6割がカクテル、それにプラス オリジナルのカクテル。オーソドックスなものを丁寧に、時にはお客様の好みを聞き、それに沿って作るスタイル。派手さはないけど「お客様に好まれるように作るのは楽しい」と日系Barで通算7年X.Y.Z.在籍2年の杨yangさんが流暢な日本語で話してくれる。

現在来店されるお客様の割合は、日本人が1割、欧米人が2割、中国人が7割らしい。もっと日本人のお客様がいても良いくらいと勝手に思ってしまう。おひとり様も気後れせずゆったりお酒を飲めるカウンター席は、早い時間以外は予約した方が無難。

ちなみに、鸣mingさんが私に合いそうな(笑)オリジナルカクテルを作ってくれた。ウイスキーベースで、名前が『LAPHROAIG PROJECT』強いスモーキーな主張を残して、フルーティーに仕上げてくれた。強烈な個性があるシングルモルトウイスキー、アイラモルトの王様とも呼ばれて「惚れ込むか、大嫌いになるかのどちらか」と評されるラフロイグ、、深く考えるのは止めて飲もう～(笑)
